Two years ago, I played a “Hole in One” Tournament. It’s an interesting format.

Par 72 course, every hole has two tee markers (one men’s and one women’s) placed 150-210yds from the green.

Each green has three pins. One checkered, two coloured. It’s a scramble format for the tournament. You must putt out to the checkered pin, and each green has a Monitor, who stays on the hole in their cart to monitor the green, to make sure no semantics take place to “win” the money. The monitor is the fella who supplied the tape measure for my picture.

If you make a hole in one, you get paid $5,000, and that pin is removed from the green.

Now, I’m not a great golfer. 3-5 rounds per year. I’ve been golfing for 20 years (I’m 33 now), and my handicap is probably around 18.

I stuck this ball directly between me and the pin. Closest I’ve ever been to an ace, and probably the closest I’ll be for a long time!

I’m just here waiting for a good 6 inches joke…

Good shot, but is that a Callaway Big Bertha ball? Those things are ancient!

Good attempt, but whats the point of measuring? Its either in or out (schrödingers’ balls aside).

  4. Flump01

You need monitors to ensure people don’t fake hole in ones?!

  5. whistlingpaddler

I like to measure mine too, just be to sure I see it right

Funny thing about golf, 6 inches away or 6 ft away still not in the hole. And yeah what’s with having a tape measure?

  7. deathcrab4cutie

Thanks for the tape measure, I couldn’t tell how close it was to the hole without it

Ugh, just a dick length away. Right boys? We’ve all got 8 inches right? I totally do…

  9. Dense_Illustrator523

Why did you use and have a tape measure? Glad you missed.

And I’m that far away from being a porn star

What club did you hit? That thing stuck to the green. Zero rollout.

  16. mumsspaghett1

That’s about half my dick size

Getting the ball to spin/roll a bit is so important for getting a hio. It increases your chances of going in the hole by like 3000% bc the ball just touches more of the green.

When I got my hio, I hadn’t even broken 100 yet. I had watched a Rick shiels video on how to put backspin on the ball before leaving and had never tried it before. I was drunk as fuck, decided to give it a try on the shortest par 3 on the course- 80 yards. Took a big brave swing with as much speed as I could to get backspin on the ball, hit it perfect, and it landed behind the pin and spun slowly backwards, caught the edge of a slope then rolled down into the hole. We went nuts

Take solace knowing atleast you can put backspin on the ball.

Hey at least you get to retain your amateur status.

Last month I was about the same distance from cup and would have won a 2026 Toyota Tacoma!

  21. Third_Most

Looks like it maybe bounced, hit the pin, and deflected back

  22. frankdatank_004

    Great shot though!

How far was this hole and what did you hit?

  23. Give me 8 inches and make it hurt.

    OP: say no more.

Can’t leave the house to play golf without the trusty tape measure for such an occasion.

  25. BitterResearch983

Ah, worth just as much as a shot 50 yards away… nice!

  26. I’m curious about the deeper rules to the tournament – why are there three pins on each green and what is the significance of the flags ?
